Greetings, fellow citizens,
Allow me to introduce myself—I'm Joshua Griffin, and I'm honored to stand before you as a candidate for the 2024 5th Congressional District elections. My journey has been one fueled by unwavering dedication to service, instilled in me from a young age by my parents, an army veteran, and a homemaker.
Growing up as the eldest among seven siblings in Houston, TX, I learned the value of hard work, ethics, and duty to both God and country. From my early years, I felt a calling to serve, a calling that led me to embark on a path that traversed the realms of military service, academia, and now, the political arena.
My journey began with the Civil Air Patrol and eventually led me to the esteemed 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Airborne, where I served as a Squad Leader and Section Sergeant. After eight years of service, I transitioned to the 10th Special Forces Group Airborne, where I undertook pivotal roles in clandestine operations, including overseeing electronic warfare operations in Afghanistan.
In 2018, I seized the opportunity to further my education and commissioning through the Army's "Green to Gold" program, becoming the sole active-duty service member to secure a spot in Division I football while pursuing a philosophy degree. This achievement not only brought personal fulfillment but also served as an inspiration to fellow service members to pursue their aspirations.
My dedication to service extends beyond the military. As a Platoon Leader and Officer in Charge at Fort Benning, I witnessed firsthand the challenges facing our nation, including ideological shifts that threaten our unity and strength. It is this recognition that prompted me to step into the political arena, driven by a desire to safeguard our cherished nation from within.
My political aspirations are rooted in the belief that we must unite as Americans, transcending divisions based on race, gender, religion, and politics. I advocate for American self-sufficiency, honor, justice, support for small businesses, bolstering agriculture, and purging politics from educational institutions.
I invite you to join me on this journey as we work together to eliminate the forces that undermine our strength and unity and strive towards a brighter future for all Americans.
